4 February 2026

Members of the Scheme have contacted us to report receiving text messages that ask them to get in touch about their MPS pensions.

We will never contact you about your pension by text message.

This means that if you get a text message that says it’s from MPS it is definitely a scam. The safest thing to do is to ignore the message and delete it.

Your phone may also have an option to ‘report spam’. Choosing this option will delete the message and block the number. Scammers may try again using a different phone number. Report as spam every message you get claiming to be from MPS.

If you’re concerned about a message you’ve had that mentions your pension, please contact us.

Visit our pension scams page if you want to know more.
